LumeBar 1.0.0

By willmot on February 6, 2026 — 1 min read

I’ve been using Lume to run a separate macOS VM for OpenClaw, lots of fun. I found I wanted an easy way to see my running VM and interact with it.

So, I vibecoded (Codex) LumeBar, a small macOS menu bar app for managing Lume VMs without leaving the desktop.

Screenshot of a virtual machine interface showing a scenic lake view with rocks and mountains in the background, alongside an open Finder window displaying a calendar and weather information.

What’s it do

  • List available VMs and show running status
  • Start or stop a VM using the local lume CLI
  • Open Screen Sharing when VNC info is available
  • Show VM details (CPU, memory, disk, IP, OS, storage, display, created)
  • Display snapshot VNC thumbnails for running VMs when menu opens
  • Support headless starts via Settings

If you try it and hit issues, I’d really value the feedback.
